ACUI announces changes to its phone numbers, e-mail addresses

The next time you receive a call from the Central Office, you may notice something different on the caller ID.

At the beginning of this month, the Central Office converted to a new phone system. This change will result in an annual savings of $7,000, reducing phone expenses by nearly 40 percent. The new system is a hosted voice over Internet protocol-based solution, which, in addition to the savings, will provide greater functionality and flexibility. Some of the new features include: improved call handling, unified messaging (voicemail and faxes delivered to e-mail inboxes), cheaper long distance rates, the ability to use the phones via any broadband Internet connection, andCAuse of softphones (computer-based phones) for access outside of the office.

Additionally, all ACUI staff and departmental e-mail accounts have changed to end with @acui.org, effective immediately. While this change had been desired for several years for brand identity purposes, the timing of the phone system change made it ideal for switching electronic communication systems.

The Central Office postal address and ACUI Web site addresses will remain the same. We have aimed to make these transitions as smoothly as possible and do not anticipate any interruption in daily business operations. Should you have any questions about the new phone numbers and e-mail addresses, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate you noting the changes in your address books and look forward to serving you more effectively from our new systems.
