2019 Conference Program Team Information

 Dear Prospective Team Member:

Applying to become a member of the 2019 Indianapolis Conference Program Team will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your professional volunteer career. As a member of the team you will take part in creating professional development experiences and become more connected with our Association. You will play an integral role in creating an engaging, educational and memorable annual conference in Indianapolis for all delegates.

The 2019 Conference Program Team (CPT) will strive to:

  • Operate as a 'learning organization' to gain insight into how the conference should evolve to meet the needs of conference attendees.
  • Ensure that the ACUI core competencies are seamlessly incorporated into all educational aspects of the conference.
  • Ensure that conference experiences are of the highest quality for all members of the ACUI community.
  • Incorporate student development theory and practice into the conference that can help to guide our work with students and campus leaders.
  • Seek educational programs that are relevant, exhibit 'best practices' in the profession, provide content that is forward thinking, and sessions that share new discoveries and create conversations on challenging issues in the field.
  • Highlight ACUI Communities of Practice and Regions added value to the association.
  • Strengthen partnerships with ACUI associate members to increase sponsored program offerings and augment the exhibit hall experience.
  • Continue to use technology to enhance recruitment, communication, and delivery of the conference program.
  • Showcase the city of Indianapolis and the many universities and colleges throughout the state and region.
  • Create intentional experiences that allow for networking and growth of delegates.

In order to achieve this conference experience for our members, I am looking for a diverse group of volunteers who are committed to the college union and student activities profession, and specifically the values of ACUI. CPT members are expected to give of their time and talents, work cohesively to meet deadlines, and be ultimate team players. The CPT, along with the support and guidance from Zack Wahlquist and the ACUI Central Office, will create, plan, and bring the Indianapolis conference experience to life. As chair of the CPT, it is my goal to build an inclusive team that will work hard, have fun, laugh often and build lasting lifetime friendships.

If this sounds like a volunteer experience that you would like to become a part of and you are interested in becoming a member of the 2019 Conference Program Team, I encourage you to visit this page to learn more about the committee work. Please take time in the application to share your thoughts and ideas on how you will be a valuable member of the team. All completed applications must be received by April 21, 2017.
