Corporate Partnerships Development Team Leader

Responsible to: Director of Corporate Partnerships and Events
Volunteers Responsible for: Corporate Partnerships Development Team
Term of Position: Corporate Partnerships Development Team leader will serve a two-year term beginning at the 2017 annual conference and ending at the close of the 2019 annual conference. At the end of the term, the volunteer may reapply for a second term; no person can serve in an appointed Leadership Team position more than two consecutive terms.

  • Attend scheduled Association meetings as required-at minimum, but not limited to, the annual conferences and the gathering of the leadership team through the end of the term. These meetings may occur in person or virtually.
  • Work with ACUI corporate partnerships staff to recruit team members for two year commitments.
  • Schedule and host regular communication and meetings with the team member and ACUI director of corporate partnerships, including regular conference calls and face-to-face meetings at the annual conference.
  • Educate corporate prospects and current participants about ACUI offerings including, but not limited to, associate membership, ACUI Expo, sponsorship, integrated brand alignment and advertising, and educational offerings.
  • Work in concert with the corporate partnerships staff to expand the scope of corporate participation in ACUI programs.
  • Identify and recruit new corporate participants.
  • Identify creative ways that corporate participants can support the initiatives of ACUI at the international, regional, and program levels.
  • Recommend programs that will create synergies between corporate members and the needs of institutional members.
  • Serve as an ambassador at association events with corporate representatives to help recognize the importance of the individual and collective corporate investment.
  • Perform committee responsibilities in a timely and professional manner; maintain strict confidentiality in proprietary ACUI business.


  • Demonstrated experience in new business development efforts in higher education, or for a professional organization.
  • Demonstrated performance in organization, leadership, motivation, communication, and listening skills.
  • Solid understanding of ACUI member and market data and the value of contracted relationships with corporate partners on college campuses.
  • A sincere interest in helping ACUI enhance its corporate participation.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse needs and priorities of the Association's membership and the profession.
  • Full-time employment in a college union/student activities department at a member institution; solid institutional support and job stability.

Selection Process:
