Facebook/Twitter Champion

Responsible to: Staff Liaison

Volunteers Responsible for: None

Term of Office/Renewal: Facebook/Twitter champions will serve a one-year rolling term, as agreed upon by the contributor and ACUI. At the end of the term, volunteer may reapply for additional one-year terms.

Responsibilities: Contribute to the community building mission of the Association through actively engaging other ACUI members and potential members through the Association’s social media activities. This volunteer will model the use of these existing social media channels as tools for professional networking, while educating others about ACUI’s programs, services, and other opportunities. Applicants will have the option to serve as a Facebook champion only, Twitter champion only, or both, depending on individual preferences.

Facebook Champions will have the responsibility to, through their personal Facebook profiles:
• Like the Association of College Unions International on Facebook
• Like any regional ACUI presences on Facebook
• On a weekly basis, post on the Association of College Unions International’s Facebook wall a question, video, photo, article, etc. to engage others in discussion
• On a weekly basis, share or comment on a post made by the Association of College Unions International on Facebook
• On a monthly basis, share a link to an ACUI resource or web page
• On a quarterly basis, suggest that friends also like the Association of College Unions International on Facebook
Twitter Champions will have the responsibility to, through their personal Twitter handles:
• Follow @ACUItweets and @ACUIconference on Twitter
• Follow any regional ACUI presences on Twitter
• On a weekly basis, tag #ACUI in a tweet
• On a weekly basis, re-tweet an ACUI tweet
• On a monthly basis, share a link to an ACUI resource or web page
• On a quarterly basis, add to @ACUItweets’ list of college unions on Twitter

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Association’s programs, services, and other opportunities.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse needs and priorities of the Association's membership and the profession.
• Full-time employment in a college union/student activities department at a member institution; solid institutional support and job stability.
• Demonstrated history of effectively using these social media tools.

Selection process: Champions will be selected by ACUI’s customer interaction coordinator; selections will be made as vacancies occur on a rolling basis.
