Student Member of the Regional Leadership Team Position Description

Function:
Serves as the chief student administrator and student voice for the region. 

Responsible to:
Regional Director

Position-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the chair of any regional student advisory committees, networks, or other student groups.
  • Work directly with the Student Involvement Coordinator in the engagement of student members.
  • Develop strategies for building a strong student network and recruiting more student participation in the region.
  • Facilitate communication between the Regional Leadership Team and student members.
  • Serve as the official student voice in Regional Leadership Team business.
  • Organize and facilitates a meeting for students (undergraduate or graduate) at the regional conference.
  • Serve as a member of volunteer selection committee(s), as appropriate.
  • Serve as a student resource for the Regional Leadership Team.
  • Develop a personal development plan that highlights desired learning outcomes while holding this position.

NOTE: Applicants for the student member of the Regional Leadership Team must be a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student who is not a full-time employee at the institution; is involved in a college union/student activities department; is not set to graduate the upcoming May or August; and has commitment to fulfilling the duties of the position for the length of the one-year term from January to December.
