Function:
Oversees the recruitment, appointment, evaluation, and recognition for regional volunteers.

Responsible to:
Regional Director

Central Office staff liaison:
Volunteer and Member Engagement Strategist

Position-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a system of recruitment, appointment, evaluation, and recognition for regional volunteers.
  • Assist undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals in finding appropriate opportunities to become involved with regional activities.
  • Maintain records of volunteers holding positions, including position descriptions and application materials, and work with Central Office to update member profile information.
  • Promote listings of open volunteer opportunities in the regional communications, newsletters, website, email, etc.
  • Work with the membership coordinator to inform new and existing regional members of volunteer opportunities within the region.
  • Ensure all members of the Regional Leadership Team participate in the orientation and training process for their positions, and provide training resources for other volunteers in the region.
  • Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program at the regional conference in collaboration with the regional conference committee.
  • Coordinate, with a screening committee, the Regional Leadership Team application process, including reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, and recommending a slate of qualified candidates for appointment.
  • Oversee the regional director election process (unless applying for the position).
  • Serve as primary contact in the region for international-level elections committees, participating in conference calls as requested.
  • Serve as the primary contact in the region for the Volunteer Development Team, participating in conference calls as requested.
