Volunteer Feedback and Evaluation Process

ACUI values the feedback and on-going communication about the performance and expectations related to volunteering with the Association. This ACUI Volunteer Feedback and Evaluation process was designed to with that in mind. It is an important part of the volunteer experience and should benefit the volunteer and ACUI.

Mid-Term Evaluation

Approximately six months into a volunteer’s term (or a point best determined by the volunteer advisor/supervisor, depending on the role and term length), the volunteer and volunteer advisor/supervisor should access the blank Mid-Term Evaluation form linked below. The volunteer should complete and submit his/her portion within two weeks of receipt, at which point the volunteer advisor/supervisor will set a time to meet formally with the volunteer to discuss the full evaluation. Once the evaluation is finalized, the evaluation document will be sent to either the Regional Volunteer Coordinator or the Volunteer Development Coordinator (depending on the position), who will organize the evaluations for all positions and file them with the ACUI Central Office. The process should be completed no more than eight months into a volunteer’s term.

Final Evaluation

Approximately three months prior to the end of a volunteer's term (or a point best determined by the volunteer advisor/supervisor, depending on the role and term length), the volunteer and the volunteer advisor/supervisor should access the blank Final Evaluation form linked below. The volunteer should complete and submit her/his portion within two weeks of receipt, at which point the volunteer advisor/supervisor will set a time to meet formally with the volunteer to discuss the full evaluation. Once the evaluation is finalized, the document will be sent to either the Regional Volunteer Coordinator or the Volunteer Development Team chair (depending on the position) who will file it with the ACUI Central Office. The process should be completed prior to thirty days being left in the term.

Any questions about this process can be directed to the chair or the staff liaison of the Volunteer Development Team.
