Responsibilities:

  • Advance the principles articulated in the Association’s core purpose and values.
  • Serve as a voting member of the Board of Trustees.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings of the Board of Trustees.
  • Participate in all committees and work on various projects related to those committees on a schedule determined by the President.
  • Participate in the strategic planning of the Association.
  • Participate in the review of the Association’s budget.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Regional Student Involvement Coordinators
  • Maintains an active presence in the undergraduate/graduate student experiences as part of the Annual Conference.
  • Perform various ceremonial duties such as attend regional conferences, speak at various functions, write articles for the bulletin or other ACUI publications at the delegation of the president.
  • Attend three onsite meetings of the Board of Trustees (at the annual conference, the July Leadership Team meeting in Bloomington, Ind., and the February face-to-face board meeting). The cost for attendance at these meetings is covered by the Association.
  • Nominate qualified members that reflect the diversity of the Association for the leadership positions.

Qualifications:

  • Individual membership in good standing at a member institution in good standing.
  • Degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student who is not a full-time employee at the institution.
  • Documented institutional support.
  • Commitment to fulfilling the duties of the position for the length of the term.
  • Access, utilization, and commitment to web-based communication.
