Facility Design Awards Selection Process

Jury
The jury will be appointed by ACUI. Any project that credits any 2016 ACUI Facility Design Awards program jury members or their firm as architect, associate architect, consultant, or client is ineligible. The jury reserves the right to create new entry categories as needed to suit the entries. The jurors' decisions will be based on the material submitted. No field trips will be taken.

Awards
The entrant should bear in mind that the project will not be judged in competition of other entries, but on the basis of the solution of the problem presented and its worthiness for an award for excellence in the category. The jury may select up to two entries in each category for an award. Award recognition will be presented to the architects and owners of all design awards during the ACUI annual conference.

Exhibition
Award recipients will be required to prepare two 36" x 36" exhibit panels to be displayed with the other category awards during the ACUI conference in New Orleans. If you would like to show your work in a banner stand, one banner is permitted in place of the two panels. In addition, award-winning architectural firms are required to submit a high-resolution digital rendering of the winning entry, participate in the Architecture and Design Showcase, and to purchase a minimum of one 10' x 10' booth in the 2016 ACUI Expo.

Publication
The entrant must clear all drawings, photographs, and descriptive information included in entry for reproduction and articles related to the ACUI Facility Design Awards program. Entrants are responsible for any royalties, copyright, or photographic fees. Release forms for the signatures of the owners of this material and the authors of the drawings and photographers who hold any copyrights must be included with entry payment. The drawings, photographs, and descriptive information of each winning entry will be used for unrestricted publicity; credit lines and copyright notices (if any) will be used on drawings and photographs published by ACUI.

Time Schedule
Completed entries must be received no later than Dec. 4, 2015. The jury will review all entries and will select the award winners in each category. The jurors' decisions will be based on the materials submitted. No field trips will be taken. Winners will be notified prior to the end of January 2016. The award-winning projects will be displayed at the ACUI annual conference in San Antonio, March 20-24, 2016.
