Meet the 2015 Conference Management Team!

These graduate students make up the 2015 Conference Management Team. They are dedicating their time and talents to making the annual conference a success.

Matt AltendorfMatthew Altendorf, The Ohio State University

Matt will be working on Special Functions, including onsite tours, suite functions, and the community service project.

Currently a first year M.A. student at The Ohio State University, Matt has an assistantship working with Ohio Union Events. He grew up around the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University and is passionate about the meaningful role unions play in college student’s lives. When not supervising a group of student employees or studying for class, he enjoys watching college sports and international soccer.

Molly BowerMolly Bower, Fitchburg State University

Molly will be working on Special Programs, including The Honors Ceremony, General Sessions, and preconference sessions.

Molly is a graduate assistant at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts, where she oversees the Volunteer Center and works in the Office of Student Development. She is a first year graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in applied communications. When she isn’t in the office, she enjoys doing different DIY crafts and spending her time with her family and friends.

Matt CramerMatt Cramer, Indiana University–Bloomington

Matt serves as a graduate intern and is completing a practicum in the ACUI Central Office for the HESA program at IU. He works on registration services, rooming lists, the marketplace, and regional dinners.

Matt Cramer is a first year master's student at Indiana University in the Higher Education & Student Affairs (HESA) program. He is from Columbus, Ohio, and attended Miami University for his undergraduate. He's an avid reader and loves to try new and interesting food. This is his first time working with ACUI, and he couldn't be any more excited!

Joe EdensJoe Edens, Virginia Tech

Joe will be working on Special programs, including the Career Center and Battle of the Regions.

Joe Edens is currently a higher education and student affairs master’s student at Virginia Tech and previously graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in secondary education. Joe serves in the Office of Student Engagement and Campus Life at Virginia Tech as the graduate advisor to the Student Government Association. In his down time, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and pug, Porky, watching baseball, and golfing (poorly).

Katheryn PaynterKatheryn Paynter, University of Texas–San Antonio

Katheryn will be working on Special Programs, including Social Media, FUND Run/Walk, and Tower Run.

Katheryn attends The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is studying to receive her master’s in educational leadership and policy studies with a concentration in higher education. She is also the graduate assistant for the Setups Department within the University Center at UTSA.

Gillian PerryGillian Perry, IUPUI

Gillian is returning for her second year as an ACUI intern. She will be working on presenter services.

Gillian is a second-year student in the Indiana University Higher Education & Student Affairs program. She currently works at the IUPUI Campus Center and is a really, really big fan of the college union.

Jake Reardon, Indiana University–Bloomington

Jake ReardonJake serves as a graduate intern and is completing a practicum in the ACUI Central Office for the HESA program at IU. He works on corporate relations for conference, including EXPO and corporate receptions.

Jake was born and raised in Roxboro, N.C., and attended the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill to complete a degree in dramatic arts and minor in chemistry. He became involved with residential education and an a cappella group in college, and he then joined the Carolina College Advising Corps and Guilford College before returning to school. In graduate school at Indiana University–Bloomington, he supervises a late-night programming space, teaches a first-year seminar on leadership, and advises the conference delegate for the Residence Halls Association.
