Donate to the Education and Research Fund's Silent Auction!

Tena BennettThe 2015 annual conference is fast approaching, and the Educational and Research Fund team is excited to see you in San Antonio! A continued tradition of the conference is the Education and Research Fund Silent Auction. All funds raised through the silent auction go right back to our membership in the form of multiple scholarships and awards.

Every year, several individuals, schools, and businesses donate goods and services to be auctioned off, and we ask you to join us in helping to further the educational efforts of the Association. Popular items for the silent auction include local items from your area, including foods and spirits. So the next time you are at your favorite local spot, think about what you can bring to San Antonio to share with your colleagues and give them a taste of your home.

Other great items to donate include homemade goods, unique items to decorate offices, gift cards, themed baskets, paintings, sporting apparel, golf items, and so much more! We are challenging everyone to think outside the box and come up with a unique twist on a silent auction item. Who knows, maybe your item will be the featured item of the day!

2015 – OrangeWe also plan to have a “Buy It Now” table for T-shirts and small items from across the country. These don’t just have to be your department T-shirts, but could be from your intramural department, housing, a cool concert you went to, or even a local grocery store that happens to have a cool shirt. Did you have a great promo item this past year? Bring a couple of those to show off your great marketing idea while helping us raise money.

That’s not all—we have some great “At Conference” opportunities that will be available, including one-on-one opportunities with current ACUI CEO Marsha Herman-Betzen, ACUI President Kim Harrington, and newly appointed CEO John Taylor. Also up for grabs is the opportunity to throw a pie at Patrick Connelly, chairperson of the Education and Research Fund—who wouldn’t want to bid on that?

Finally, we have a special treat this year—several items donated by the one and only Marsha Herman-Betzen! Yes, you read correctly, Marsha Herman-Betzen has donated several items to be part of the MHB Collection. All funds raised from her collection will go directly to the MHB Internship Program. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to have your very own piece of MHB!

Learn more about the Education and Research Fund and register your donation. In the spirit of the silent auction, bring your unique item and then bid high and bid often!
