What are you looking forward to most at the 2015 annual conference?
I’m most excited about showing our delegates the rich history and vibrant culture of San Antonio and how our host city can provide an inspiring location for an innovative and dynamic conference experience.

What advice would you give to first-time delegates?
I would offer the following to first-time delegates: Use the guide in the ACUI app! It’s an amazing planning tool and will help you to manage your time at the conference. Use social media! If you are not already out there (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), create an account and at least try it during the conference. Amazing networking opportunities can be found through social media.

Why did you become involved in ACUI and the Conference Program Team?

The annual conference is such an amazing energizer! I have always come back with valuable insights, new networks, and a stronger commitment to my students. Being part of this amazing team is such a wonderful honor, and I hope to help give the 2015 delegates have the same feeling when they leave San Antonio as I have experienced at previous conferences.

When/where was your first annual conference?
My first annual conference was in 2008 in New Orleans. The city was still recovering from Hurricane Katrina, and the entire delegation went out and performed service projects all over the city. I went and worked in a local food bank with a group that included Marsha Herman-Betzen and Shirley Plakidas (never a dull moment!). It was inspiring to see so many ACUI delegates give back to the community.

What three things in your office could you not live without?

Card reader (I always have one attached to my machine), my trusty pen/highlighter combo, and my staff! They are amazing!

Random fact about yourself:

I like to coupon. It’s actually fun, and I usually do pretty well.

What was your major in college?
