Volunteerism in the Association

What have you gained while volunteering to lead an ACUI community of practice?

timothy butlervolunteerism statsI have expanded my professional network to colleagues from institutions all over the association. In addition, I have had a great opportunity to share my experiences and expertise within an organization that has done so much to support students and professionals in student affairs and higher education.

amy lopez-matthewsI’ve gained a network of college union professionals from Catholic institutions who serve as a resource to each other. I’ve also gained a network of ACUI volunteers who lead communities of practice, who interest me, and who provide great opportunities for collaboration.

jon tuckerI feel that I have been re-energized and tied more greatly into my community of practice colleagues—but also with ACUI as a whole. I continue to gain knowledge and understanding of the dynamics within the GLBTQ+ community, how society’s views continually change, and how we all can become better people through inclusion and building relationships.
