What is your primary responsibility?
The primary function of my position requires the management of marketing, social media, and branding for the department. I have also taken on advising the members of both the Black Student Alliance and the Virginia Tech Union for the planning and implementation of GobblerNights.

What would your staff, colleagues, or students say about you?
Sienna has jumped into the student activities and union profession as though she had years of experience. Indeed, Sienna has found her home. She is not afraid to ask the hard questions and back up the questions with concerted effort and dedication.

What’s one innovation or project of which you’re proud to have helped implement?
I was awarded ACUI 2014 Staff-Driven Program of the Year for SoMe SCA Workshops to help students develop their digital identity throughout their collegiate experience. This series of workshops resulted in me being tapped to participate in a university-wide Digital Identity Project to reach the entire community.

What is one phrase to live by or bit of advice you might have for future generations of union professionals?
“I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.”—Thomas Jefferson

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned while working in the profession?
My work on campus and on the Region VI Leadership Team has shown me that a true commitment to student learning, collaboration, and maintaining good working relationships plays a major role in accomplishing what is required in this profession.

What is your favorite ACUI memory?
My favorite memory is spending time with my colleagues Tari Wimbley, Eric Margiotta, and Jonnelle Davis during the 2014 ACUI annual conference in Orlando.

Is there anything else you would like ACUI members to know about you?
I will be starting my graduate work in the higher education program at Virginia Tech in the fall of 2015.
