Education and Research Fund reveals updated giving levels

The mission of the ACUI Education and Research Fund is to provide financial support to enhance the experience of Association members. Gifts to the Education and Research Fund are used to maintain its commitment to ACUI’s mission, provide financial support for students, and encourage research opportunities among members.

To honor individuals, families, and corporations who make outstanding contributions to the fund, the program team restructured a former system of giving levels, which recognizes donors making cash contributions to either the Annual Fund or one of ACUI’s various endowed funds. The program team wished to honor those who have given so generously over the years. Through members’ contributions, the Education and Research Fund Program Team has been able to more than quadruple the number of scholarships given out to the Institute for Leadership Education and Development (I-LEAD®) and the Indiana Professional Development Seminar (IPDS). Many important awards have been endowed over the last four years, allowing those awards to be sustained long into the future. The amount of research being conducted in the college union and student activities field has also increased, and contributions are supporting the proliferation of knowledge in our profession.

Previous giving levels were published on an annual basis. Because so many ACUI members, friends, and family continue to give annually, the Education and Research Fund is proud to acknowledge that these levels now include cumulative giving from 1998 until February 2011. Purchases made at an auction at the annual conference are not included in these levels. If you have a concern or comment about these levels, please contact Zack Wahlquist, director of education, at zwahlqui@acui.org or 812.245.8053.
