Event Descriptions

Silent Auction
The Silent Auction depends on you to make it successful! The auction needs great items from your school or region. Perhaps you scored a great item last year, maybe a sweatshirt, some handmade items, great regional foods or beverages, perhaps even items for your building or programs! If so, consider donating similar items this year; if you found an item and are really excited about it, someone else will be too! Whether you are donating items or bidding, the auction is a key part of the conference and essential to the Education and Research Fund. Register your item today!

Battle of the Region points will be awarded to the five items garnering the most money at the auction. Additional Battle of the Region points are possible and will be determined prior to the conference.

Loteria!
If you like Bingo, you will love this fast-paced, fun-filled game. Hosted by ACUI's own Izzy Sandoval, delegates will experience this Mexican tradition and all funds will benefit the Education and Research Fund. Who doesn't enjoy winning fabulous prizes? Players can purchase a set of three Loteria cards online with their conference registration or on-site at the Education and Research Fund Headquarters in the Ballroom Foyer on the Third Floor for only $10.

Tower Run
The 2015 annual conference features a Tower Run for those looking for a challenge and unique fitness event. Participants will have the opportunity to climb the 38 flights of stairs in the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. Whether a person's goal is to finish with the fastest time or simply make it to the top, this event will put fitness to the test. A suggested $20 registration is asked of each participant, and runners are encouraged to solicit sponsorship to support the Education and Research Fund. The suggested registration for runners participating in the FUNd Run and Tower Run is $30 for both events. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., and the stair climb kicks off at 7 a.m. The top three male and female place winners will receive Battle of the Region points.

FUNd Run/Walk
Price: $20 minimum donation
Preregistration required

The city of San Antonio didn't achieve greatness by sleeping in! Enjoy a beautiful, scenic run along the San Antonio Riverwalk and through a charming historic neighbor, concluding at the iconic Alamo. A suggested $20 registration is asked of each participant, and runners are encouraged to solicit sponsorship to support the Education and Research Fund. After a quick and early registration, the run will depart from the Arneson Theatre, which is a short seven minute walk from the hotel. This is a great opportunity to see the city and challenge yourself both physically and to raise money for the Education and Research Fund.
