College students are volunteering now more than ever. Many student volunteers also are active in their college union as employees and student leaders. This session will explore the relationship between community service and the union.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the motivations of a generation of college students compelled to give back to their communities
  • Explore best practices in community service
  • Understand the benefits of integrating community service into student employee training or union programming
  • Explore best practices in partnerships and learning outcomes
