Connect at Conference through Your Mobile Device

There are several ways that conference delegates will be able to receive and contribute information on-the-go while in Chicago. Here are just a few pointers for getting your device ready for the conference:

  • Bookmark the event's mobile site for easy access by going to in your device's web browser.
  • Have a Twitter application installed so you follow the #acui11 hashtag, share what you are learning, and receive updates from @ACUIconference.
  • Make sure you are following ACUI and are a member of the ACUI Annual Conference-Chicago 2011 on Facebook so that you can connect with others through your Facebook app.
  • Set up your Foursquare account so that you can checkin at conference events, share tips about the ACUI Expo, and follow Explore Chicago to learn trivia about local venues while in the city.
  • Bring your device's USB connection cable with you so that you can upload photos to the ACUI annual conference photo album while in Chicago.
  • Install a QR code reader on your device, as these codes will be used to facilitate mobile educational session evaluations during the program, as well as link to websites from the on-site program guide.

A Social Media Challenge will take place using some of these tools, so be sure to read your on-site program guide for details about how you can win prizes by engaging in conference programs in new ways! While the mobile applications described above can support competing in the challenge, any delegate will be able to participate—whether they have a smartphone.

Need some coaching?

If you are new to using social media or are interested in experimenting, the annual conference is a great time to try them out as a user. Stop by the social media coaching station in the ACUI Marketplace during opening registration hours on Saturday and Sunday, where some social media champions will be on hand to share some pointers and get you connected to the right tools to make the most of the conference experience.
