Battle of the Regions

Conference update: Battle of the Regions is always a good time and this year was no different.

Winners were announceced at the Closing Banquet on Wednesday, March 2. The 2011 winner was Region 14, and Regional Director Jim Schuster accepted the traveling trophy on the region's behalf. Also placing were Region 10 (second) and Region 15 (third).

Coin Wars: Region 9 and 10 (tie)
Poetry Slam: Region 12
ACUI Idol: Region 10
FUNd Run/Walk: Region 3 (women) and 8 (men)

Spelling Bee: Region 6
Video gaming competition: Region 15

National Academic Quiz Tournament: Region 14

Lego competition: Region 8


Points were also awarded for community service donations, volunteering throughout the conference, and through a variety of ways in the Silent Auction.

While we won’t be playing for the Lombardi Trophy, Battle of the Regions participants will earn points toward winning the elusive Battle of the Regions trophy cup! Who will win this year’s Battle of the Regions? It is anybody’s guess. Join us on Sunday night for fun, trivia, some slam, and a bit of spelling. Additionally, throughout the remainder of the week there will be other opportunities to earn points for your region. The winner of the Battle of the Regions will be announced at the closing banquet on Wednesday night.

Spelling Bee  2 people per region 25–100 points
NAQT 1 team per region consisting of 4 people 25–100 points
 ACUI Idol 2 people per region 25–100 points
Poetry Slam 2 people per region 25–100 points
Lego Competition 1 person per region 25–100 points
T-Shirt Donations Unlimited donations 5 points per donor
Gaming Competition 2 people per region 25–100 points
FUNd Run/Walk Unlimited participation, $20 minimum donation 25–100 points
Coin Wars   Coins by weight


Volunteer for the association during the conference and earn five points for your region. Limit of five points but you can volunteer for more than one event/area.
Every person who participates in the Battle of the Regions will earn five points for their region (limit five points per person unless he/she places then points are awarded as listed above).

Silent and Live Auction points awarded

Points will also be awarded for preregistration of Silent Auction items before 9 a.m. Feb. 26 and for the five items that raise the most money in the Silent Auction.
