Trends, Trials, and Lessons Learned: Planning, Branding, and Operating the Sustainable College Union
Wednesday, March 2, 1–4 p.m.

We will be meeting at the Conference Concierge on Level 5 of the Marriott. This will allow you time to complete Educational Session Block 8 and return in time for the start of Block 10. We will be walking to the Perkins+Will offices approximately 4.5 blocks and back, so please dress appropriately.

A guest list has been prepared for easy security sign in, then we will gather on 36th floor, hang coats, settle in, and have refreshments.

1:30 p.m.: Presentation on Sustainable Design (David Damon)
This will include a look at the Chicago office's LEED methods and a presentation of cutting-edge sustainable strategies, including P+W Chicago, University of Texas–Dallas, Vancouver arboretum, etc.

1:45 p.m.: Sustainable Operations Planning (Halle Stern)
Presentation of concepts of Green Operations Plan

2 p.m.: Tour Office (The group will be divided into smaller groups)
Walk through office, review LEED points, discuss work in progress

2:40 p.m.: BE Strategies
Presentation of concepts on branding student union buildings, including University of Chicago athletics

3 p.m.: Panel Discussion (Jeff Stebar)
Hear from panelists about “Lessons Learned” and have an open discussion
