Volunteer at Conference

Practice key skills through volunteering!

Jennifer Keegin, volunteering

Communication and relationship building are two critical functions of the profession. Volunteering an hour of your time at the conference will give you an opportunity to work on both of these!

A variety of conveniently scheduled volunteer opportunities will be offered from Saturday through Wednesday for attendees to consider as a way to give back to the Association.

If you have never volunteered before, here are a few of the more popular ways to volunteer:

  • Greeter/directions
  • Conference registration
  • Assisting with the silent auction
  • Helping run the Battle of the Regions activities
  • EXPO check-in

Who knows? While volunteering, you may get that interesting tip about a new program, find out about a new product, learn about a potential job opening, or just meet someone new. Whatever you get out of it, you'll feel good giving back to ACUI and its membership. Oh, yeah, there are also points awarded for Battle of the Regions too.

Conference volunteers are vitally important to the overall conference experience. Before becoming part of the experience of volunteering please note the following:

  • Volunteers will be scheduled in blocks of one to four hours depending on the assignment.
  • Unless you indicate otherwise, we will not schedule you for more than four hours per day.
  • Please commit to only one or two event areas and specify which day and time you are available.
  • You will be contacted via e-mail with your assignment(s) prior to your arrival in Chicago.
  • Please check in at the host information desk upon arrival to confirm your location, date, and time to volunteer and receive your instructions.

Are you ready to volunteer? Please fill out this information form and we'll match you with an open opportunity. If you still have questions, contact us.
