Women's Leadership Institute, a December program alternating East and West Coasts
The Women's Leadership Institute is a four-day/three-night program that aims to give women in higher education information and support in their pursuit of executive leadership positions on campus. It is cosponsored by more than 15 higher education organizations. The institute will have educational and programmatic offerings targeted to all levels of professional employment from women with one to two years of experience in the field to senior level executives. Potential program topics include: gender communication, negotiating salary, techniques for good supervision, work/life balance, mentoring, financial competency, and career mapping.

IPDS: New Professionals Orientation, held in June at an ACUI founding school
IPDS is for those new to the college union and student activities profession. It serves to introduce the role of the college union; offer practical strategies for managing current challenges on campus; help individuals translate their skills and knowledge into success within their new position; and ultimately build a cohort that will become the profession’s future executives. This program combines strong general sessions led by seasoned professionals, tours, hands-on activities for active learning, and informal time for networking relationships to form. IPDS is the longest running professional program outside the annual conference and brings together 50 eager professionals who are seeking to better understand their role as campus community builders.

Institute for Leadership Education and Development (I-LEAD®), held annually in July on a member campus
I-LEAD® is ACUI's premier student program, designed to emphasize the key concept areas of leadership, community development, and change. This living-learning program offers the opportunity for college students to focus on personal growth and other issues facing our world. Participants in this institute will include 150 undergraduate students and a facilitation team of approximately 27 new and mid-level professional ACUI members. Almost half of the former facilitation team members have gone on to hold other significant volunteer leadership positions in ACUI.
