Job Description - Student Life, Graduate Assistant

Category: Student employee

Responsibilities: Graduates are employed in all aspects of student affairs including housing, Greek life, student activities, orientation, career development, academic affairs, union administration, judicial affairs, services for students with disabilities, and generalist positions. The emphasis of this work is on the administration of student affairs and student development.

Special qualifications: Departments may have varying job-skill requirements and qualifications; Graduate assistant positions are usually considered as a two-year commitment; Strong written and oral skills; Student leadership development experience; Knowledge of community-based learning/service learning pedagogies; Strong organizational skills; Comfortable in a creative, automatic, flexible work setting; Enjoy working as a part of a team

Education: Student admitted to the graduate school in a degree-seeking program, in good standing, and taking credits towards the degree as required by the graduate school.
