Job Description - Student Activities Graduate Assistant

Category: Student employee

Responsibilities: Have ownership of assigned tasks and projects. Counsel students on areas of personal development, time management, stress management, career goals, and motivation; instruct students on the basics of group dynamics, motivation, team building, and how to run a meeting, etc. Attend general staff meetings, assist with special projects and programs as assigned, and recommend change and improvement. Other duties as assigned.

Special qualifications: Applicants must also have demonstrated successful involvement in related experiences; Candidates should possess the maturity, leadership, and personal qualities that will promote success in the profession; Must be able to relate well to people in a college environment, show initiative, have a conscientious attitude, be organized, and have excellent communication skills

Education: The best candidates for this position have been those working toward a master’s degree (or higher level) in college student personnel, counseling, communications, business, management, marketing, public relations or other related field.
