Craft Shop Manager

Responsibilities: Supervises the operation of the shop and program, which may include woodworking, ceramics, photography, metal or lapidary work, poster making, and other areas. Arranges for supervisors and instructors of craft classes. Maintains inventories. May arrange for the sale of crafts.

Special qualifications: Insight into the creative process and technical knowledge of the requirements of the various crafts. Ability to promote craft shop offerings. Managerial skills.

Experience: Operating a union or community center craft shop. Teaching background in arts and crafts areas is desirable.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, art history, industrial arts, or a related field.
